Joe Dan Lawrie, a turquoise expert

LFC's mission is to provide a deep understanding of the traditional world of turquoise by specializing in natural turquoise . At the heart of this is Joe Dan Lawrie, who is a turquoise appraiser .

He comes from a family that has been buying and selling turquoise in Albuquerque, New Mexico for five generations , and he also serves as the director of the Turquoise Museum.

Records show that the first generation, Jesse and Laura, were based in Albuquerque and ran a turquoise business doing business with Native Americans since the 1930s .

1st Generation: Jesse Cordell Zachary and his wife Laura. They lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico and started an Indian trading and turquoise business. They made a living by processing the turquoise they bought and selling it to trading posts, museums, and gift shops, or by trading it for rugs and other items.

It goes without saying that they have world-class knowledge and experience, including not only the know-how about turquoise that they have been dealing with for generations, but also a vast turquoise collection. Jordan himself has been in contact with turquoise since he was a child, so he naturally grew up receiving a special education in turquoise .

Of course, there is natural turquoise and artificially processed turquoise, but natural turquoise is difficult to appraise, so much so that only an expert can tell the difference. Because of this, I am one of the people who felt uncomfortable with the current situation where turquoise is expensive just because it is natural.

Of course, from a business perspective, there 's nothing bad about selling for a high price , but that means many people are unable to enjoy the true value and beauty of the item.
Until now, there was no clear line drawn between the two, and many people found it difficult to judge the value of turquoise, leading to an ambiguous market where people traded as the seller said they would. Therefore, he believes that there is a value standard for turquoise, and that it is necessary to communicate this to users accurately .

He wants to set clear value standards for turquoise (the mine where it was mined, its colour, and its matrix ) and create a market where turquoise is priced at a fair price, rather than being sold at a high price simply because it is natural turquoise.
The point we are trying to make is that even if the colour or matrix is not breathtakingly beautiful, natural turquoise has its own appeal.

Third generation: Joe P. Rowley, who married Katie Zachary, became a member of the Zachary Turquoise family and worked in the turquoise business. In addition to trading, he also focused on educational development, holding seminars on turquoise, which later became the basis for the establishment of the Turquoise Museum.

Although they are both gemstones, there is currently no global standard for turquoise like there is for diamonds and rubies , but he says that turquoise is no different from those gemstones, whether natural or man-made.

LFC's main goal is to help people understand the true value and beauty of turquoise by offering turquoise with a clear value standard determined by his appraisals .
