This turquoise was mined from a mine called Blue Gem and is a one-of-a-kind handmade piece made by Native American Ben Sandoval.

The mine is 800 feet underground and the rough was once sold to lapidaries who mass produced the loose gemstones. Many early 20th century pieces of jewelry feature blue gemstones cut into perfect ovals, circles and squares. Many of the higher quality gemstones are in museums and collectors' collections. Closed.
