Recommended for those who want to wear real turquoise.
This turquoise was mined from a mine called Hachita Mine and is a one-of-a-kind handmade piece made by Native American Jimmy Brown.
[Hachita Mine]
It comes from a group of mines near Old Hachita in Grant County, New Mexico, which also includes the Azure, Cameo, Galilee and Aztec mines. The name "Hachita" comes from the Spanish word "Little Hatchet."
The small town itself was located at the base of the Small Hatchet Mountains in a valley in New Mexico.
When turquoise was first discovered, it was mostly a pure, solid blue color. Now, the Hachita turquoise seen on the market is mostly a green to light brown matrix, sometimes with beautiful spider webbing.
There are very few of these stones, including vintage ones, making them extremely rare.
